[Quote] Uthaimeen On Repentance

Shaikh Uthaimeen, may Allaah have mercy on him, said, “Turning back to Allaah is by feeling remorseful at what one has done, and wishing one hadn’t done the sin, and by resolving not to go back to it in the future—it is not a condition that a person doesn’t do that sin again, the condition is that he resolves not to go back to it—then if it does so happen that his soul entices him and he does it again, his initial repentance for that earlier sin is sound, but he must repent afresh from the following sin which he has just committed.”

Al-Liqaa ash-Shahri, 37.

[Quote] It will bring low some, and others it will exalt! / Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله

Allah سبحانه وتعالى says in the Noble Qur’an about the Day of Resurrection that:

 ﺧَﺎﻓِﻀَﺔٌ ﺭَﺍﻓِﻌَﺔٌ

{It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt} [Surah Al-Waaqi'ah 56:3]

The noble Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-'Uthaymeen رحمه الله mentioned regarding this ayah:

“And how many people are there who have a high status and are venerated by the people in this worldly life but will be from the most humiliated servants of Allah on the day of resurrection."

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih Al-'Uthaymeen رحمه الله‎‎

Explanation of one who secludes himself with Salafiyyah as a specific Manhaj, by way of calling others deviants who don't agree with them from the Muslims, even though they the Muslims are upon the truth.

This is taken Salafiyyah as a hizbi Manhaj, which is opposite to what Salafiyyah is.

[Quote] You should start with yourself first when supplicating

It is befitting for the individual that when he supplicates (makes du'ā') he starts with himself first. Mūsā, may peace be upon him, said: ​

{O my Lord! Forgive me and my brother} [Sūrah Al-A'rāf 7:151]

Nūh, may peace be upon him, said:

 {My Lord! Forgive me, and my parents} [Sūrah Nūh 71:28]

Thus having given priority to himself over his parents. And the Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Start with yourself". Starting with oneself is more appropriate when it comes to supplicating.
