[Quote] The Sweetness of Īmān for the Woman by Shaykh Sulaymān ibn Salīmullāh al-Ruḥaylī

Shaykh al-Ruḥaylī:

There is the spiritual sweetness specifically for the women that the Prophet {صلى الله عليه وسلم} explained. He said,

"If I was to command anyone to make prostration before another I would command the women to prostrate herself before her husband, because of his tremendous rights over her" (1)

The women will not taste the sweetness of Īmān until she gives her husband his rights.

So the women, if she gives her husband his rights, in obedience to Allaah, carrying out the command of Allaah, she will taste the sweetness in her heart and that is the sweetness of Īmān.

And in regards to this affair, the Shay'aateen of man and jinn nowadays are trying to divert the women from this, and they whisper to her that she is equal to the man, and that her giving her husband his rights is weakness and humiliation and this is a tremendous mistake.

Rather the nobility of the women is to give her husband his rights in obedience to Allaah. She will taste in her heart a tremendous sweetness.

A women has her rights and her status and Islaam honoured her and the noble Muslim reveres her.

However her carrying out her husband's rights is from her nobility! It's not humiliation neither is it a deficiency nor oppression.

[Quote] Be Patient with Your Spouse and Seek the Reward from Allāh

It was said to Abū Uthmān An-Naysabūrī : What from your actions is most valuable to you?

He said: I was in my youth and my family was striving hard to convince me to marry
but I refused. A woman came to me and said: 'O Abū Uthmān, indeed I am
infatuated with you. I ask you, by Allāh, to marry me.' So I went to her father,
who was poor, and he married her to me and he was very happy with that. When she
entered upon me I saw her and she was cross-eyed, cripple, and deformed.

Due to her love for me she would prevent me from going out so I would sit with her
to soothe her heart and I didn't display to her any aversion, yet it was as if I was
burning due to the aversion which I had for her. I remained like this for fifteen
years until she passed away.

There is none of my actions that I hope to preserve more than my (action of)
preservation of her heart.

[Article] Condition for fasting the six days of Shawwal in presence of the husband

The third question of Fatwa no. 19541

Q 3: I am a religiously committed woman; I observe Sawm (Fast) in Ramadan, the six days of Shawwal, the White Days (13th, 14th, and 15th of every Hijri month), in addition to Mondays and Thursdays. When I intend to observe Sawm during such days, I ask for my husband’s permission first. At the beginning he agrees, but after a while he gets angry about that and exclaims, “Every day Sawm, Sawm!” In this case, is it permissible for me to observe Sawm or not?

A: It is not permissible for you to observe supererogatory Sawm in the presence of your husband without his permission, for his right as a husband over you. May Allah grant us success! May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions!

[Article] Sihr that causes separation between spouses and how to undo it

Fatwas of Ibn Baz

(Part No. 28; Page No. 345)

A chapter on issues related to witchcraft

81- Witchcraft intended to separate between husbands and wives and how to undo its effect

Q: Dear Shaykh, I hope that you supplicate to Allah for me and my wife because both of us have been subjected to sorcery that caused me to hate her and refuse to have sexual intercourse with her, whereas if she is away, I miss her so much. May Allah protect you from every evil and bless you!

A: May Allah cure you and all Muslims! I recommend you to recite Surah Al-Fatihah, Ayat-ul-Kursy (the Qur’anic Verse of Allah’s Chair, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255) and Al-Mu`awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and Al-Nas) on water and breathe in the water while reciting, knowing that it is better to add to the water seven milled leaves of Sidr (lote tree/ lotus jujube), and then take a bath using this water. For, this will be helpful in removing the magic effect. It suffices to recite these Surahs on the water without applying Sidr leaves, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to (blow into his hands and) recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu`awwidhatayn three times and then wipe his hands over his face, chest

(Part No. 28; Page No. 346)

and head. Then, the pain will be removed, in sha’a-Allah. You should do so when going to sleep; recite Ayat-ul-Kursy, Al-Iklas and Al-Mu`awwidhatayn three times, blowing into one's hands, and then wipe one's hand over the head and face three times, and then the pain will be removed, in sha’a-Allah. It is permissible to recite this on some water and wash your body with it. It is also recommendable to add seven leaves of Sidr to the water, as some Salaf (righteous predecessors) used to do, and recite Ayat-ul-Kursy, Al-Iklas and Al-Mu`awwidhatayn and some Ayahs (verses from the Qur'an) on removing the magic effect, from Surah Al-A`raf, Surah Yunus and Surah Ta-Ha, on the water by yourself or by aid of anyone else and this will be helpful, in sha'a Allah.
